Ableton Live 8 Dubstep Tutorials

Some of you may know - via my SoundCloud account - that I've been learning to make music, specifically Dubstep in Ableton Live 8. Directly from Abletons website:

Ableton Live is about making music. When you're writing and composing, Live is quick and responsive. When you want to record and develop your ideas, Live has the depth and toolset for intricate production. It's got the features to take your DJ skills to the next level and it's stable and flexible on stage, whether you're playing in front of 10 or 10,000 people. However and wherever you make music, whatever music you make, Live will inspire you.

It's truly an awesome piece of software, used by some of my current favourite artists; Skrillex, Daft Punk, Nine Inch Nails (an old one to be fair) there is a complete list on their website.

Anyway, if you're like me and coming to Ableton from nowhere with no real musical background, except a bit of guitar, then you'll easily get lost. Tutorials are few and far between, at least for the genre I'm looking for - there are _extracts _of how to achieve certain effects, but out of context it makes no real sense. Till I found the TornadoTwins.  These guys are awesome and their 18 part YouTube videoset is a masterclass in Ableton technology alongside Native Instruments Massive which has really changed my sounds and make some good dirty bass.

So yeah, if you're looking to make music, Ableton Live 8 is free for trial for 30 days which is what I'm currently using. Massive is available for 30 minute sessions with no re-call (total pain, so I actually bought it) and TornadoTwins videos are free and well worth it.
