WWDC 2013 Today

Today is the big day, Apples WWDC event is happening! There have been a few good rumours and ideas as to what Apple will be revealing today, but we'll just have to wait and see. In the UK, the event is kicking off at 6PM.

Many tech sites will be covering the event live - personally I prefer TheVerge for live events.

What I'm hoping for in iOS7

Here is a quick run down of the things I'd really, really like in iOS 7.

  • AirDrop, sharing pictures and music between OSX and iOS, or even iOS to iOS.
  • Default apps overhaul. I'm pretty sure that the Weather app is the only one to have been updated dramatically in recent years.
  • Let us remove or at least hide Newsstand. I don't use it, I don't want it.
  • Re-designed App Stores. iOS 6 includes a new App Store, but it just doesn't work.
  • More APIs for developers. Siri would be a nice one. Perhaps even live icons for apps, that's at least a little bit of customisation beneath widgets.
  • New lock screen and notifications menu. It's dated and it can do a hell of a lot more.

And a few other minor things. But let's wait and see!
